Goals

• To explore some aspect of fog, media, and particles in Povray

Directions

• The lecture page lists 4 different types of special effects: fog, media, exploder, and spray. Pick any 2 of them and explore how to use them. Begin by reading the documentation and trying out some of the examples that are given.

• Once you are somewhat familiar with at least 2 of the techniques, create one or two new scenes OR take scenes that you already created in a previous lab, and add the special effects. For example, you could add fog to your path animation. Use the 2 effects on a single scene or use a single effects in multiple scenes. Experiment with different parameters.

Summary of what to turn in

No later than class time on Thursday, April 26, please do the following:

• Place your images (or animations) of your special effects on your web page. Include a description of what effects you used.
• Email to gorr:
  • Your povray image(s). If you did an animation, please just email a single image that conveys what your animation is about.
  • Your povray file (or files)
  Please remember to place "CS-142 Lab 11" in the subject line.

We will look at your images (or animation) during class on April 26.
