Goals

• Develop organization plan.
• Explore topic for project.
• Begin literature search.

Directions

• Develop organization plan: Come up with several ideas for how you will organize your work over the coming semester. That is, how do you propose to keep track of ideas, references, results, etc. This could be one or more of the following:
  • A lab notebook.
  • An online journal.
  • A blog
  • A wiki
  • other
• If you do not yet know the topic of your project, pick one or two topics that interest you.
• Do a literature search on your topic(s). Your bibliography should contain at least 10 references from a variety of sources including: books, internet (just a few), refereed journals/proceedings. Try to include both seminal sources in the topic area and at least one recent citation (2007 or after). Each reference should have a short (~2-3 sentence) description of the focus or major contribution of each reference, written in complete sentences and good English. Include complete citation information.
