How to Contribute to Discussions

There are many ways you can respond and contribute to a discussion

• Offer new information or new perspective.
• React to and expand on the contributions of classmates. ("That reminds me of ....")
• Agree or disagree with what has been said ("I agree with you because ....")
• As questions for clarification.
• Summarize the conversation so far.
• Relate the discussion or readings to other readings, assignments, etc
• Process what you hear, e.g. "I'm not sure how relevant that comment is to our current discussion")
