IDS 252: Topics for the Week of December 1, 2008

  • Critiques will be Thursday!
  • Speaker in lab on Thursday! We will have a special presentation on Maya modeling given by Marty Havran of Dreamworks and Laika.
    This is a very special opportunity - do not miss it!

• Continue work on Lab 8: Animation Production. - Have all groups contacted their musicians?

• Tuesday in class:

  • We will review the animation from the Race and Cooperation groups.
  • Discuss the final presenations. What will happen and when.

• Tuesday in lab:

  • Continue to work on lighting, shading, texturing, and special effects.

• Thursday in class:

  • Critiques for each group. We will review what each person had done. This should include:
    • The completed animation with some shading and texturing. Regardless of the status of the animation, each group should have a quicktime containing the very latest frames.
    • A brief recap technical or esthetic issues that arose over the last week.
  • Everyone submits a status report which should be sent to the group mailgroup. See Projects Page for mailgroup addresses.

• Thursday in lab:

  • Special presentation on Maya modeling given by Marty Havran of Dreamworks and Laika.

• Homework: Everything should be done next week!!

  • Finish lighting, shading, texturing, and special effects.
  • Add title and credits to animation. There should be a separate quicktime for each musician.
