IDS 252: Topics for May 3, Spring 2016

• ANNOUNCEMENT: Please come to Casey Berg's Film Studies Senior Presentation on Thursday, May 5 at 2pm in Ford 122 (theater). All are welcome to attend!

• FINAL PRESENTATIONS: Remember that our final presentations will be Tuesday, May 10 at 2pm in Ford 122 (theater). You are required to attend. See the final deliverables listed in Lab 8.

  We will first meet in Ford 202 at 2pm to give your group (including musicians) the opportunity to upload your animations to the Academic Commons (see next item).

• ACADEMIC COMMONS: Once you have the scored animations, please submit to the 3D Computer Animation Academic Commons. There should be one submission for each group. This submission should include all scored versions of your animation. Go to the above link, click on the "browse collection". If you are not logged on, you will need to do so in order to get to this page. Once you are on the browse page, you will see a link to "Submit a new item". It is important that you do this so Willamette can get your permission. The file size limit is 700Mb but this may take you more than an hour to upload. Better to compress your animations down to a total of 100-250Mb.

• This is the last class!

  • Do class evaluations.
  • Each group will present their final animation.
  • Have your musicians scored the correct final animation? Or have they been forced to work with an older version because 1) they did not have the new version in time and 2) the timing of the new animation is sufficently different that the music won't work with the new version? Please check with them. I don't want to see older versions of the animation presented during the final presentation.
  • Do your final status report - yay!
  • Prepare for presentations, see final deliverables listed in Lab 8
  • Do not assume your work will still be on cs-render once the class is over. If you want copies of files for yourself, you will need to make a copy for yourself.
  • Don't leave class without backing up and cleaning out cs-render. Please be sure to delete all unneeded files including images, old version of maya scenes, depth files, old quicktime, etc
