Final Project Requirements
IDS 352: 3D Animation, Fall 2013

Requirements for the Final Animation

• Due Date: December 15, 2013 at 5pm (no extensions!).
• Animation Length: a minimum of 2 minutes (not counting title and credits)
• Size: 720 x 480
• Format: Quicktime - the rendering quality should be good!.
• The animation should have good quality:
  • animation
  • framing and timing
  • lighting and textures with shadows.
  • modeling of characters, props, environment
  • titles and credits
• All of the Maya files and resources needed for the rendering should be contained in a single clearly identified Maya project folder stored on cs-render in in the folder ids352Fa13. When you are done, please delete all but the final files (maya files, images, etc).

Deliverables

By the above due date, the following items should be within a folder called ids352Fa13/FinalProject

• Final Images: Create a subfolder called FinalEditing which contains only and all of the final images used to create the final Quicktime, along with the final Adobe Premiere Elements Project.
• Final Storyreel: This should be a quicktime file.
• Final Animation: It should follow the requirements listed above.
• Group Reflections: A single Word document describing what did each person do (be specific). Besides the normal stuff such as animation, modeling, camera work, etc, also include who was responsible for such things as team leader (if there was one), editing, reference, storyboarding, storyreel, etc
• Optional Individual Reflection: If for any reason, you feel your contribution was not accurately reflected in the group reflections, you are welcome to send the instructor a private email. This is not required.
• Individual Portfolios: Each person should create a separate subfolder containing sample images showing their work. Include a single Word doc that explains what each image represents, for example:

  images 1-4: Different angles showing my character X
  images 5-6: Image of Scene A where I did the lighting 
  images 7-8: Image of Scene B where I did the texturing
  images 9-10: Image of Scene C where I did the animation
  etc
  image 11: Prop x  I modeled  
  image 12: Prop y  I modeled
  image 13: The building  I modeled
  image 14: The camera work I did.
  etc
