# The Project Proposal

## The Guide
- The official project guide has been posted [here](https://people.willamette.edu/~jjrembold/class_files/data510/HW/Proj_Prop_Guide.html)
- 2-3 pages covering:
    - Title
    - Research Question
    - Motivation
    - Data
    - Methodology requirements
- How you want to organize is up to you, but it should be full prose: not just bullet points of sentence fragments.
- Export as PDF and upload to your team working repository

## The Example
- I have written an example project proposal available [here](https://people.willamette.edu/~jjrembold/class_files/data510/HW/Proj_Prop_Example.pdf)
- Its format is just one I found convenient and aesthetic while covering all the requirements.
    - It isn't the only way to meet the requirements, it is just _A_ way
- I also have examples taken from two high scoring proposals from past years that you can look at ([here](https://people.willamette.edu/~jjrembold/class_files/data510/HW/project_proposal_ex1.pdf) and [here](https://people.willamette.edu/~jjrembold/class_files/data510/HW/project_proposal_ex2.pdf))

# Team Proposal Work

## Team work
- The rest of the evening is set aside for you to work on your project proposal with your team
- My recommendations for before you leave:
    - Have your research question worked out
    - Have your data sources pinned down and urls saved somewhere
    - Have a plan for who is writing what portions of the proposal, and when you want to have everything added so that you both can look it over before submitting/uploading.
