  • Activities and assignments in this class will be related to your Linguistics course
  • Purposes of Applied English:
    • To help you with the special English you need to succeed in Linguistics and improve your general English skills
  • This English course is not "tutoring" for your elective course.
    • If you have questions about the content or assignments in Linguistics, please contact Professor Fujiwara. There is also a class tutor for Linguistics: Nick Kummert.

Expectations

  • On-time attendance and active participation in class
    • Bring a dictionary, your Linguistics book, notes, handouts, etc. to all Applied English classes.
    • If you are absent, it is YOUR responsibility to understand what we did, get handouts, etc.
  • Use of English in class
  • Daily preparation and study
  • Independent work: No copying of other students' work
  • Drink beverages in class only in hard, washable mugs. No food and no gum please.
  • Come to class rested and groomed.
  • Contact me immediately if you cannot come to class or have questions, problems, or suggestions.
