Final exam (oral)
- The oral final will be on Wednesday, December 5. You will come with your group to my office, and you will draw topics and discuss them.
- You will get points based on
- your knowledge of the topic
- use of facts and vocabulary we learned in class
- your ability to discuss the topic and your English
- Prepare to discuss all the topics because you don't know which ones you will draw. Meet with your group to practice, but don't memorize what you'll say. You may use a dictionary and one note card.
Your groups are:
- 12:40: Anna, Shinichi, Mai, Keisuke
- 1:05: Satomi, Chiaki, Risa, Yasu
- 1:30: Eri, Kazu, Shota, Ikumi
- 1:55: Nori, Maiko, Ritsuko, Masashi
- 2:20: Akira, Narumi, Miho, Sayuri

- What are some things "green" businesses do to be more sustainable, and why do they do these things?
- What are the (1) causes of, (2) effects of, and (3) solutions to climate change?
- Why is sustainable or "green" building important, if it's important?
- Which of the field trips we took was the most educational for you and why? What did you learn that was important to you?
- What do you think you will remember from this class that you will "take with you" in life? Explain.
- How would you describe the "state of the planet" in 2007? What are the major problems in the world related to social, economic, and environmental sustainability?
- How do American and Japanese culture affect their use of energy?
- What are the three ways the world deals with solid waste? What are solutions to the huge amount of solid waste the world's population produces?
