Projects for Campus Sustainability Day, Friday, October 26

You will work with one partner and you will be in the University Center from 12:40 to 2:50 on Sustainability Day

Purposes:

1. Learn by researching
2. Share your knowledge with other people
3. Improve your English

You can make a poster, make a movie, create a PowerPoint presentation, make a model or piece of art, write a song, etc. BE CREATIVE.

• How to recycle in Japan
• Heating houses in Japan
• Water use in Japan
• Coal in the U.S. and Japan: mining, transport, use, and the environment
• E-waste, E-cycling in Oregon (or the U.S., or Japan ... )
• Making a model of a "green house"
• The band "Cloud Cult" and related topics
• An art project from recycled items
• Useful things from recycled items (for example, boxes from newspaper); alternatives to using wrapping paper
• Sustainability in Sweden ( or .... anywhere)
• The sustainability of World Heritage sites (choose one or two sites)
• The TAB trip related to sustainability
• The world's population (growth, urbanization, sustainability, etc.)
• Solar energy in Japan (or the U.S.)

• Recycling at Willamette University
• Video project for orienting next year's TIUA students regarding sustainability

• A survey about a sustainability topic and the results: compare Japanese results with results from Americans
