Designing a District Communication Plan

A well-designed and fully supported communication system within a district will forestall problems, resolve them quicker when they do arise, utilize untapped resources, and increase ownership by everyone involved.

Precept One: Everyone has access to everyone.

Precept Two: Communication can happen in more than one way

Precept Three: Communicating is easy to do and the process is well supported

Precept Four: We all have lots to learn about how to communicate effectively

Precept Five: Communicating through technology IS different from other communication

Precept Six: A solid communication plan requires commitment from everyone.

Precept Seven: Even the best plan continually needs monitoring and improvement.
