IDS 252: Topics for the Week of March 14, 2011

• Each group needs to decide on a working title. This will be used to set up mail groups.

• Lab:

  • Discuss and work on: Lab 8: Animation Production .
  • Schedule: gantt chart

• Tuesday:

  • Each group will pitch storyreel to class.
  • Prof Orr will meet with each group to go over tasklist and shot list.
  • Each group will present work to the class on their progress for concept & reference and modeling.

• Thursday:

  • Continue to work on concept & reference and modeling.
  • Begin to work on Animatics (see example from Ice Age).

• We now have mail groups:

  Each group includes the group members, Prof Orr, and (when assigned) the musicians. Use the mailgroup to communicate with group members and to submit status reports.

• Have a great Break!

• Expectations for Tuesday after break:

  • Each group and each group member will present work to the class on their progress for modeling and animatics. These critiques are important and are included as part of the lab grade. If you are sick, you need to let your group members know where your work is so that they can present it for you.
  • On Tues, you will be given time during class to write and submit your first status report.
