IDS 252: Topics for the Week of March 7, 2011

• Lab:

  • Tuesday: Pitch and refine stories created for Lab 7: Story Development .
  • Begin work on Lab 8: Animation Production .

• Tues lecture and lab:

  • Pitch storyboards
  • Revise storyboards
  • Vote on stories and assign students to groups.
  • If time, create storyreels. See directions for creating the storyreel.

• Thursday lecture and lab: Professor Orr is away at a conference on Thursday. Students are expected to use this time to meet with their group to do the following:

  • Create storyreels.
  • Fill out tasklist. Review gantt chart for the schedule.
  • Create shotlist. At this stage the most important part is identifying the Scene#, Shot#, and Description. The other columns will initially have only approximate data.
  • Begin to collect concept and reference.
  • Setup a Maya project folder for group - discuss organization.
  • Begin Character, prop, and scene modeling

• Expectations for next Tuesday (Mar 15):

  • Each group will pitch storyreel to class.
  • Prof Orr will meet with each group to go over tasklist and shot list.
  • Each group will present work to the class on their progress for concept & reference and modeling.
