IDS 252: Topics for the Week of Mar 4, 2013

• Continue Lab 7: Story Development :

  • Monday: Go over stories and rough out storyboards.
  • Wednesday: Work on full sized storyboards and (if time) pitch the stories.
  • Friday: Pitch stories, vote on stories, and form groups.

• On Friday, after groups are formed, begin work on Lab 8: Animation Production . Group members should exchange email addresses and phone numbers (or other contact method), assign reference material to be collected (each person should be responsible for collecting some of the reference material.) and try to meet over the weekend to put together the storyreel (at least get images scanned).

• Looking ahead to the next Monday (Mar 12):

  • Go over the reference material.
  • Complete storyreels.
  • Pitch storyreels and revise based on class feedback.
  • Create a tasklist. Review gantt chart for the schedule.
  • Create shotlist. At this stage the most important part is identifying the Scene#, Shot#, and Description. The other columns will initially have only approximate data.
  • Setup a Maya project folder for group - discuss organization.
  • Begin Character, Prop, and Scene Modeling
